During the past couple of months flu shots were in short supply and were reserved for people over 65 yrs and for those with chronic illnesses. We just received a new batch of flu vaccines and are making them available to everybody on a first come basis.

Old news:

From Mayo Clinic Health Oasis:

<Health care providers should first immunize older people and others at high risk of complications from the flu when delayed supplies of influenza vaccine become available this fall, Surgeon General David Satcher says.

"We have to be more strategic in the distribution," Dr. Satcher said during an Oct. 25 news conference called to detail immunization plans for the 2000-2001 flu season.

"We are urging, through the month of November, that health care providers focus first on immunizing the elderly and the chronically ill and women who will be in their second or third trimester of pregnancy during the flu season — those groups who are most at risk," Dr. Satcher says.>
